Nervous about ADHD assessment
I am nervous for a ADHD assessment
I got this feeling and this curiousity, so I asked my primary doctor for a referral for an ADHD assessment. I am previously diagnosed with bipolar, severe depression, general anxiety, the most recent is CPTSD and I agree with the most recent one.
I am very nervous to get miss labeled like I have the other times. Anyone have any tips on what I can look for or where I can do more research ? I would prefer not to get diagnosed with ADHD because of the stigma behind it specifically if I am misdiagnosed.
Venting and looking for helpful response

it totally normal and valid to Be nervous about a assessment or a medical test.
good luck with it. I hope it will give you some answers that can help u get treatment that can u out.
ADHD has aspects in common with a number of mental health issues. I have had multiple labels thrown at me, with only partial relevancy. I understand the pain you’re talking about. From it i did realise i was different which made me willing to accept I was adhd which fitted much better.
Look at what you were like as a child. If the label fits the help from adaptation out weighs the stigma.
ADHD may be advantageous for young in future.
As someone who is adhd i am more sensitive to rejection, RSD. I was labelled bipolar but my moods changed quickly no with monthly swings. The weaker prefrontal cortex connection to my lymbic system means my emotions change more but the effect is quick.
Normal people find it unsettling they expect moods to be stable independent of subject contemplated.
Platonic hugs.
