Reframing ADHD
I've been reevaluating how I think and talk about my experience with it and have started renaming it when I talk about it as Attention Regulation Disorder.
Functionally exactly the same but definitely perceived different when I talk about it that way socially and in my opinion it's a more accurate and evocative description as I don't really have "hyper" activity but I do strongly struggle with being able to regulate what do pay attention to vs what I want to pay attention to.
I'm just wondering if this resonates with others on here or if it's more a 'my way' thing.
@chaos331 It's interesting how you've chosen to rename your experience to better reflect your perspective and challenges. Naming things differently can indeed help others understand and empathize with your situation. I'm curious to know if this resonates with others as well, or if they have found their unique ways of describing their experiences. It's a personal journey, but sharing your approach might offer new insights to others here.
