Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria

Hi! I'm Laurel. I was diagnosed with ADHD 2.5 years ago, and I have since learned that I have rejection sensitivity dysphoria, which means I feel intense emotional pain when I hear or think I hear criticism. I anticipate it, too whenever a loved one is angry. I tend to worry that I've done something wrong. Anyone else? If so, what do you do to help it?

@easyScarf7950 i have it too and there's not really much I can do i'm only 13 but anyway the best I do to comfort myself when that happens is literally just have an attitude instead of crying which is a very very bad habit

Do you mean that you get defensive? Sometimes I do too. I remember I had an attitude when I was 13, too! Though I reserved it for just a few people in my life.

@easyScarf7950Hi Laurel, it sounds like rejection sensitivity really affects how intensely you experience criticism and conflict. It makes sense that you’d worry a lot when someone is upset with you, especially someone you care about.
