Hi! Just letting you know I have moved this post to our ADHD community since it seems like it'd make more sense to be there given the topic:

Hi there, I can’t relate exactly per se, because in my case I am the one in my partnership with the undiagnosed ADHD but I am not in any sort of denial about it. Is your partner willing to see a specialist for a diagnosis? Based on your title I would imagine that maybe they aren’t? Did they or you come to the conclusion that they potentially have ADHD? I am just trying to get a bit more context to frame my response.

What I can do is recommend reading the book ‘ADHD: A hunter in a farmer’s world’ by Thom Hartmann. I am currently reading this myself and I can’t begin to tell you how helpful it has been in explaining what ADHD is and why it shouldn’t be considered a disability. Perhaps if you read it together it would create a “We are in this together and I am here to support you” basis of understanding between you two and make your next steps easier to navigate. When we feel less shame, denial tends to drop off naturally. This book will certainly dispel any shame around this condition and your partner will more than likely be willing to look at what options are available to them going forward.
