@Hadrish

I do feel like ADHD can give you tools and/or capabilities that don't come easy for others. I feel like my unique brain allows me to see from different angles and it displays itself in creative ventures.

The hyperfocus aspect of ADHD is a huge advantage. All you have to do to be interested in the topic and presto that superpower switches on. The only drawback I have found is that sometimes these hyper focusing sessions can start getting in the way of my other responsibilities. So I just have to be mindful of that. It is a delicate balance, but in my experience, it can be done. The use of timers are invaluable in these cases.

There was a book I recommended to read this month called ‘ADHD: A hunter in a farmers world’ by Thom Hartmann and in it he helps you to see how our unique brains can be used to our best advantage. He gives plenty of examples in career and relationships. For example, he mentions that we make excellent entrepreneurs, who are better at the start up aspect of it, as long as we find good farmers to help us manage the business once its up and running it can become a success. When the next idea strikes us (and it inevitably will) we can concentrate on starting up another business idea.
