Uh hey! I'm heading to college soon, and while I'm excited, I'm also struggling with ADHD, , and other things that make daily life harder for me. My parents don’t really take me seriously — they think I’m immature or not ready for the "real world" because I haven’t figured everything out yet, including my major. They have high expectations and want me to change to fit a more traditional mold, but I don’t want to lose who I am just to meet someone else’s version of success. I’m also super silly and laughable. But I like that about me. If there’s any help, y’all could give me that would be perfect.😄

Heyy!! My name is Lara, I am heading to college soon too and I also struggle with ADHD. I’ve had ADHD since a very young age and it’s been getting worse lately. I forget to do things, when someone interrupts me while I’m talking I won’t remember what I was saying because I will get distracted very easily. I’m Portuguese and I got diagnosed in Portugal. I moved to the UK 3 years ago and since then it’s become worse. I don’t take any medicine since that I’m not diagnosed in UK. I’m very funny and if I am comfortable around you, trust me, you are one of my best friends. I hope we can become friends and help each other! 🙂

Hey! It’s great to hear I’m not alone. Yeah I totally get that.!! I guess it’s just that college is a chance to have The ability to mature on our own and become who we want to be in the future. 😊

What Pine said, and...

when you start college, look for resources on campus to support you as you figure things out while having ADHD. They can help you figure out your strengths and interests and give you any accommodations you may need. Maybe you can create your own major based on what you learn about yourself.
