Hi guys

I have found these two things extremely useful in jumping over anxiety.

The first is

Role Models

We all look to role models for inspiration to get ideas toward our goals and to get an idea of what someone would look like in those goals.

I have found that we can use this principals to jump over anxiety and anxiety bouts. With anxiety, we are trying to get our calm back. Often, we have been feeling and thinking anxiety, panic, fear for so long that we have forgotten what calm would even look or feel like.

Have any of you felt that?

Well that's where role models have been so helpful for me. This time my goal was to be a calm person. So I looked to the calm people I knew - personally and online.

So just like I would look to role models for success, I looked for role models of calm. I love those slow living videos on YouTube. They kind of give an instant slow down. (slowing down the brain is another great find, which I'll talk about in another post).

Calm role models reminded me what a calm person or a calm life, a valm situation, even a calm way of handling my situation would look and feel like. Its sort of like a starting point to getting to calm, like training wheels or following a template to start you off.

Try it and let me know what you think. I found it significantly helpful in reminding myself of what calm is and I could go from there.

The second thing I wanted to share is spending time with the people who make you feel like you. I found this to be a lovely way of helping me throw aside anxiety and stand as who i really am. I know we generally like to curl up in a ball away from everyone but I was surprised by how nice it felt to be reminded by the company of my friends and family that hey I am not that label anxious person or anxiety sufferer. I am a friend, a family member, a leader (all afflicted people are chosen leaders - I'm going to talk about this later on too). I am me. And this made me feel surprisingly free. And I realised that sometimes just a reminder of who we are outside of the anxiety is all we need.

Happy week guys. We got this. We are kicking anxiety's butt - one hack at a time

Thank you for your suggestions. Especially role model. It's something I need right now.

I hope you found some lovely role models. Who is the calmest person you know? Who is the most level headed? I asked myself this. And I also took notice of these types of people on social media and modelled them.
I would also love to share with you my anti anxiety posts. Search for anti anxiety toolbox in the communities-->anxiety support page. I post all the tips that have been game changing for me.
Have a lovely day and here's to you feeling uplifted and calm
