Hi

I’m new here. I’ve always had anxiety and it’s getting worse. I’m trying my best to find a way to live a normal life.

  1. I started to exercise a year ago. (Upper and Lower body and walking 20-30 minutes daily)
  2. I TRY to stay hydrated. It’s not hard but I barely eat. I’ll take food and hydration seriously. I used to be underweight (17 BMI) and now my BMI is 20 and my goal is 24 with low to normal fat percentage.
  3. I need more sun exposure. 10-15 minutes a day is enough according to NIH. I only get 5 minutes of sun exposure daily.

I want to share my recent checkup. I would like to hear your opinions.

  • HDL cholesterol 57 mg/dl. (<40 is in risk, >60 normal) I consume sunflower oil on a regular basis. I'll try to avoid it.
  • Vitamin D3 13.25 ng/ml. I'm basically deficient. (<20 deficient, 20-30 insufficient, 30-100 normal).
  • Copper in serum 74.5 ug/dl. (85-100 normal) My copper level is low. I don’t know what to do with this one. I’ll start with eating more spinach and potato. Those might help
  • My Blood results are confusing, the levels go up and downs in every checkup except (EOS, PCV, MCH, MCHC). These four never change, and I’m not sure what food might push them to normal levels.
    • EOS 9.9% (1-6)
    • MCV 70 fL (83-101)
    • MCH 21.5 pg (27-32)
    • MCHC 30.5 (31.5-34.5)

I don't drink or smoke and I don't take any medication.

I used to take antianxiety medication for 15 years, not because it was useful but because I couldn't get off it. The withdrawals were bad.

Fortunately, I was able to get off the meds on my own.

@Omar1985

Hi Omar, I'm really sorry to hear you've been struggling with anxiety. That can't be easy, but I'm glad you're taking some positive steps to try to manage it, like exercising and trying to improve your diet.

It sounds like your recent checkup had some mixed results - that vitamin D deficiency is definitely something you'll want to address, as that can really impact your overall health and well-being. And the copper level being a bit low is also something to keep an eye on. But try not to get too bogged down in all the numbers - the most important thing is that you're being proactive about your health and well-being.

The fact that you're being so diligent about things like getting sun exposure and trying to eat more nutritious foods is real improvement. It can be tough to make those lifestyle changes, but they can make a big difference. And don't be too hard on yourself if you have ups and downs - progress isn't always linear, and the important thing is that you keep taking those small steps forward.

You've got this. Keep being patient and kind with yourself, and don't hesitate to reach out for support if you need it :)
