Pet Anxiety
Hello,
I am feeling anxious about my cat. I am wondering if anyone else can relate. He is the first pet I am taking care of by myself (it's been many years, but him getting older comes with more concerns). Obviously I want to take him in to the vet when I see problems, and luckily if I have this care club that allows me to pay a monthly amount and have unlimited exams. However, I feel like sometimes my anxiety about him kind of spirals because I am very attached/lonely in general. Today I took him in for some respiratory signs and they gave me an antibiotic. I was also really worried about his teeth getting bad and asked them, but they forgot to tell me if they checked on it. I am freaking out a bit, like what if his teeth are really painful. They are supposed to contact me about his bloodwork, so I am thinking to try to ask about the teeth then. The doctor is really good and has known him for a while, so hopefully I can trust she would say something if his teeth were really like rotting lol.

@Daydreamer47 We do get attached to our fur babies don't we? I'm sorry to hear he's having respiratory issues. I hope it's nothing serious. Sounds like you're taking really good care of him tho 😊 Boy I know what you mean about how when they get older there's more concerns and worries and fears. Is there a reason you think he's having trouble with his teeth? Does he balk at crunchy food? Or maybe shy away if you touch the side of his face?
I'm so sorry you are having anxiety and that your furbaby is ill. It's entirely normal to feel this way when we are empathetic and have furbabies who mean so very much to us. They are special. They are magic for us lonely and depressed people.
Take a deep breath and please call the vet and ask. Be honest, say I know you are a great vet, but I have anxiety over my furbaby. I do it all the time and make a joke about it. I've always felt better just knowing what is going on. Anticipation is usually always worse than reality. They're fine with my neuroses. 😂

Thanks for your help everybody! I talked to the vet when she called about the bloodwork. She said his bloodwork is normal and his teeth only had mild tartar so he is fine. <3
@Daydreamer47 awww it's ok to be worried about him 🤗 having a fur baby, is a special kind of connection/love. And the fear of him leaving you, is understandable ❤ gives you a giant hug ❤ I hope you both enjoy many more years together ❤
