So I’ve had anxiety almost all my life. It use to come and go. As I grew older it would hit me so hard during vacations or out of town trips to the grocery store. I once spent 6 months without leaving my town bc I was afraid. It went away for a long time and then it came back. It’s been years now since I’ve left my town. I can leave my house go to work do errands but only in my town. I have a fear of leaving. Being too far. Last year I left for the first time and once I got there I started panicking and screaming like if I was about to pass out or something. But I came back home to my town and never tried again a whole year has passed again. I need help I need tips. There’s not much options here in my town for anything. Everything has to be online ex. Therapy, Dr visits. I’m tired of being in the same cycle. Today I got presecribed anxiety and depression meds and I’m scared to take them bc of side effects bc I’m scared. I’m depressed bc it’s been so long. I’m missing out on important events, ruining friendships.

Taking medication can be a difficult choice but equally it can work for many people.

Don't associate leaving your town with your last negative experience.

Allow yourself to build up positive images in your head of what leaving could do for your life.

Start slow.

And work towards a goal.
