Anxiety
I’ve had severe anxiety for the last month. My family and I have moved to N.C. to be with my daughter and granddaughters. I’m bipolar with severe anxiety. My anxiety has gone through the roof. For the last 3 weeks we have been staying at an extended stay hotel and this is my last week here because they aren’t extending reservations. It’s our last week before we become homeless. My husband and son have gotten jobs but I’m afraid it won’t be soon enough. I’m freaking out and don’t know what I can do about my anxiety. I have shortness of breath, I dwell on what will happen to us. I’m scared to death of being homeless. I came to N.cto try to be better off, but I’m so stressed out and my mind is racing. Please if anyone can help me to stop my anxiety please tell me what I can do to stop feeling this way
Heyy. I am here for you. It sounds like you are extremely anxious because you worry about not having a home and you want to stop this anxious feeling. It is understandable that you are anxious of having to move about without the safe space of a stable home.
Anxious feeling is terrible definitely you would want to stop. It has been an intensely stressful period for you. It seems like you are ruminating a lot. Why not try mindfulness? It helps to bring back awareness of the present and calms. Also, congratulations to your husband and son for getting jobs.
Hello, I'm so sorry that you're going through such a difficult time at the moment, I imagine you feel a lot of responsibility for what will happen to your family, which is a lot of weight to take, so it's understandable that you have so much anxiety.
Anxiety tend to come from the fear not knowing what is going to happen. To help you cope you could try and visualise the reality of the situation, taking in all the good and the bad, and working out where you will end up. Even if where you end up feels negative, being able to visualise it makes it less scary, and when your anxiety lessens, it's easier to think of solutions, which may help you find ways to avoid being homeless. Mindfulness is good too, and there are many different ways of doing it, so you'll have to work out what is best for you, but overall, a clearer mind is a more rational one, and hopefully it will help you figure out what you're going to do next.
I wish you the best of luck for you and your family, and feel free to chat with me if you need to talk to someone about it all.
