Anxiety

One day at a time, one foot in front of the other, breathe in breathe out. Like a mantra in my head. Other people don’t seem to be so aware, of other people, of their surroundings, of their own self. They don’t seem to think about their motions and words so consciously. They don’t think about how they’re walking, they just walk. I envy those people. I envy their carelessness. I envy that they don’t seem to have to think so much. Or maybe they are just better at letting their worries go. I envy that skill too. The ability to shut it off. To not let the worry consume you. I ache for that feeling. I wish I knew what it felt like, I hope I do one day. Until then, one day at a time, one foot in front of the other, breathe in breathe out..

Anxiety.

@unassumingWheel6060 Yes, unfortunately, what you are describing is typical for people with anxiety disorders. And in fact, many people think that someone has it easier and so on. And yes, many really do not worry about this issue, but there is another side. Some, like you, think about how they walk and so on. But if you understand that hundreds and thousands of people have your experience, perhaps it will be easier for you to accept it. And then it will be easier to cope with anxious thoughts. Yes, you watch yourself and worry, but someone does the same and at the same time tries to live a calm life. You are not alone, which means that this is just your peculiarity, it should not determine your life, right?
