Hey there, it sounds like this anxious feeling has been affecting you for quite a while now, especially when you're not out and about. It can feel really tiring at times dealing with this, especially when the knot in your stomach comes up and you're unsure of what to do. In response to how to relieve it, I suggest doing some deep breathing exercises when the feeling comes up. It may be something small, but it can have a larger impact than you think.

I believe that you've got this (:

Just commenting to say I can relate! Mine is mostly social anxiety so I love when I'm occupied like you stated- then I don't have to engage with people. I both equally want to get over this and want to ignore it. It's exhausting. But I have tried something called 54321 exercise and that has helped a time a two. I feel like this is something that could work for you also. Have you heard of it before?

hey! I felt the same way a year ago. To help this, I started exercising ( not a crazy amount, could just be a walk if you are able to), but this helped me get some of my anxiety out through physical activity. I also found that journaling helped me - asking myself what makes me feel like this, which made me discover that it was just leftover anxiety from unfinished business that I had let ruminate in me, causing just a slight anxiety in the stomach area 24/7. I also recommend "Therapy in a Nutshell", which is completely free on YouTube and has an anxiety course that could really help you out.

Hi Linda,

not sure if you are still having to deal with your anxiety?

I suffer most days from it most days and have found outlets to help me calm my mind and gut.

1) I try to meditate but find it hard to sit still most days. YouTube has a vast selection of videos to choose from. Search for short 5 to 10 minute meditations, BoHo Beautiful have some great ones on their channel.

2) easy exercises, whether they be chair yoga or light walking. Take a stroll around the block, I like to have my music with me when I go for walks.

3) I also occupy my mind by reading through the following forum threads seniorforums . com  you would be surprised at the antics of the folks there. 😊

hope you can at least find a way to lessen your anxiety 🤗🤗

Hi, have you tried breathing deeply into your abdomen? It helps me. Also try distracting yourself with art, crafts, tv,, music, anything you enjoy doing.
