Anxiety and Depression
Lately everything has been feeling overwhelming. I seem to be worried about everything and how everything can blow up in my face at any moment. Like if I do the slightest thing that might annoy someone I care about I feel like they all hate me and are just trying to be nice. My question is how do I not? Like how to I not think everyone secretly hates me to the point of sending me mentally spiraling?
@Xenicus89 Deep slow breaths. Concentrate on the breath or some other part of the body. Try to just stay literally second by second on that one focus. I focus on my left foot sometimes. The bottom, the top, how it feels inside the foot, warm, tense, relaxed, etc.
After you have done that for awhile, perhaps you can examine the evidence. Have any of the people you worry about said you were doing something to annoy them? It true that sometimes people do get annoyed, but usually they eventually say something.
Have you been under stress, lost tons of sleep, or have you taken any medicine or drugs lately? Those types of things can stimulate anxiety.
Try to just relax with the breathing technique and remind yourself that for now your ok. Tomorrow will be better.
@Xenicus89 I know exactly how you feel about feeling like everyone secretly hates you. I have spent the day spiraling too. I am trying to think of myself as a child who needs love right now. Try to live your child self. That child needs you to protect him/her from spiraling.
