Yesterday I had a visit to the ER for high heart rate, upon the visit I had my blood tested and my wbc count was high along with latic acids. The doctors gave me IVs and antibiotics and sent me on my way after bout 8 hours. On the way out they asked me if I wanted a spin tap to test for meningitis… they told me they don’t think I have it but if I wanted to rule it out. I’m a very healthy person and I struggle with anxiety my whole life. So as you can imagine once I got home all I can think about is what if I have this… I can’t sleep, I can’t relax I keep making up symptoms in my head like my neck hurting ect. As I finally doze off to fall asleep I get a brain zap that wakes me up. I haven’t had an anxiety attack like this in years it sucks.

I’m really sorry to hear about your difficult experience at the ER. It must have been really scary to see your heart rate and blood tests show abnormalities. It's good to know that the doctors took care of you by giving you fluids, antibiotics, and even offering to do a spinal tap to rule out meningitis. Even though they don't think you have it, I understand how anxiety can make us worry even more, making it hard to feel at peace. Our minds can make things seem worse than they are, causing symptoms and trouble sleeping. It must have been really tough to go through a brain zap, similar to an anxiety attack.

I really hope that you start feeling better soon and that this distress goes away, so you can feel calm and peaceful again 💛
