Anxiety & panic attacks daily

Hi guys, this is my first time posting here. I have always suffered from anxiety and panic attacks but recently it’s been happening on an everyday basis. I used to be able to control them but it’s gotten to a point where I can’t do certain things anymore. I barely go out anymore. I stopped working because of it, I can’t drive and I’m always thinking something bad is going to happen. I feel like I have no control over my body. I feel like a “spirit” just lingering around and not physically here ( if that makes any sense) I went to the doctor and had my blood drawn and everything looks good. But I still feel like somethings wrong. She prescribed me lexapro (I think that’s what it’s called) but im really scared to take it. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about it and idk if I should just take it or find other ways to control it. I just hate feeling like this. Is anyone taking medication for anxiety/ panic attacks? And do you feel like it’s actually helping? Sorry I feel like I’m all over the place with this post just looking for someone who can maybe help :/

Hi mb11169, I’m so sorry to hear you’re struggling with such intense feelings of panic and anxiety every day. I have experienced recurrent anxiety and panic attacks for a long time too, so I understand how scary and hopeless it can feel.

To answer your question about medication: I do take medication to manage my panic/anxiety attacks and they have provided me with significant relief. I no longer have those attacks on a daily basis and when I do have them they’re easier to manage.

I encourage you to take your medication as advised and also engage in some healthy coping skills such as a hobby you enjoy, deep breathing, or exercise.

I hope you feel better soon!❤️
