Any anxious, under-confident physicist here?
I am an aspiring research scholar. But even before starting, i feel like quitting as i keep getting the feeling that i m not good enough
@sstwilight
I am a research scientist, and I can completely understand the feeling. I struggle with feeling like I am not good enough, that I don't deserve what I have worked hard for, or that I'm not smart enough. In fact, I have talked about this with other people in my organization, and even people with multiple doctorates that are so specialized there are few who could rival their knowledge feel this. If you really want to be a research scholar, you are good enough.
I will urge you to look up imposter syndrome. It affects many people and can be the reason that people do not pursue their passion. I hope this little bit helps you as I know that hearing other people struggled with this helped me even the smallest amount.
