Friend’s pet died
My friend had this bunny for 2 weeks and this weekend she is out camping so we decided that I am gonna take care of the bunny while she’s gone. I brought the bunny home last night and the next morning he suddenly passed away. I asked a lot of specialists in bunnies and they said it was a shock that he changed houses. I am absolute miserable and feeling so guilty about it. I hadn’t had the courage to say this to her and decided to wait until she is back so I can tell her face to face. I cannot stop stressing over this. I even bought a new bunny that looks similar to the other one, I know it wouldn’t change anything but maybe ease the loss a bit. Any suggestions?
@smallfox3 I'm sorry to hear about your friend's Bunny. I think waiting to tell her until she comes back is a good idea. This way it doesn't get her down or upset on her camping trip. From what I've read, bunnies get stressed pretty easily. The fact that she didn't have it very long before having you watch it could have been just too stressful for it. I think your heart is in the right place with getting a replacement that looks similar to the one she had but keep in mind she might not be receptive to a new bunny right away and may need some time to warm up to the idea. I can imagine how you must feel having this happen while it was in your care. Try not to stress yourself too much okay? Sometimes things just happen 💜
@smallfox3 aww honey I'm sorry that happened🙁 but it is not your fault, it's just one of those things. You are right to wait until she comes home, or it will ruin her trip💖 I understand how anxious you must be about telling her, but breath, I'm sure your friend will be understanding, you'll cry and she will comfort you 💗 it was very sweet of you to buy her a new bunny 💖 gives you a giant tiny hug 💗 everything's gonna be ok 💖

After your friend returns, tell him/her whatever happened. Don't make yourself wrong for everything. Sometimes, certain things are not in our hands. I know it's not easy for you as well as your friend. Hoping time will heal both of you.
