I am tired.

Be a man," they said. I lost my brother in 2014. I was robbed in 2015, and later that year, a fire destroyed everything I owned. My mother had major surgery in 2016. Since then, I have lost my housing three times: in 2016, 2021, and 2023. Now, my fiancée has been battling cancer since last year, and I have lost everything all over again.

I am exhausted and feeling broken. I’m at my breaking point and just need a safe space to vent. I need someone to listen and acknowledge how heavy this is because I don’t feel like I can "be a man" about it anymore.

No one should ever tell you to be a man!

Being a man, means being in touch with your emotions.

Being honest.

Asking for help.

It's ok to not be able to carry the load.

You are human.

I'm so sorry you lost your brother, my condolences, I cannot imagine the pain 🥺

And to lose your home, so many times and to have to dust yourself down and pick yourself up again.

That took strength.

I'm sorry you were robbed, that would be terrifying.

Don't let anyone's outdated versions of what a man should or shouldn't be, determine how you feel.

I'm so sorry your girlfriend is going through this.

I'm thinking of her, she's lucky to have you.

Sometimes we cannot keep pretending , we need someone to say, you've been through alot, I see you, it's ok to feel like it's too much, your feelings are valid 💖
