hi, im new. how do I calm myself down from having a panic attack. I’ve tried to talk to my friends but they laugh about it. My hands constantly shake and I feel my chest get extremely heavy and it makes me cry a lot. Ever since I got panic attacks I’ve seemed to shut my feelings down and I wanna find someone that can just listen to me and help me through my problems.

I'm sorry to hear about your panic attacks and the lack of support from your friends. During a panic attack, deep breathing and grounding techniques can help. It's okay to cry and feel overwhelmed. Surround yourself with supportive people. You're not alone, and we're here to listen and support you.

@qursyoo4 Going out on a walk and breathing in the outside air/ taking in/focusing on the things around you whether it's the flowers, the birds, someone's yard that is nice, a really huge tree. Movement I think is always the best medicine even if it feels like an impossible task. Panic Attacks can feel as if you're loosing control BUT the best thing you can do is to not panic. stay with your breathe even when you're body is shaking or you feel your heart beating faster. Stay focused with your breath, OR any form of exercise

@qursyoo4 Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling this way. Panic attacks can be overwhelming. And when you don’t have people who can help you through it, it can be more difficult. Please don’t feel lonely. I and this community is here for you. As someone who has gone through panic attacks, deep breathing really helps me. There are other breathing exercises too. Please feel free to message me if you need more help or assistance. I will be happy to assist you! 😊

You are definitely not alone. I can totally relate to panic attacks and the lack of support. My anxiety is something I feel I should hide. But, I found some good listeners here on 7 cups. When I am panicking, going outside and getting fresh air helps me. But, I am a person who likes being outside. I also put my hand on my heart ❤️ and take a couple of slow breaths. I don’t know why the hand over my heart helps. I guess it is a self care thing, something I can do to remind me that I care about myself.
