Negativity
Hey I'm having a lot of negative thoughts lately and I can't change my mind to think more positive about life in general, I have a fear of flight since watching all the news about crash and I will travel to Thailand in 3 weeks and I'm overthinking a lot because is my first solo trip so far and also for the earthquake that happened there days ago and I'm scared now
The news is so overwhelming, isn't it-especially when it comes to air crashes and natural disasters. It's completely understandable to be scared when you're going somewhere that had such a horrific earthquake.
Sometimes it can help to remember that thousands of flights happen every day without any problems at all. Statistically it is much safer than getting in a car.
Also I would recommend limiting your exposure to images of the earthquake, because that can activate "survival mode." Anxiety exists for a reason: to keep us safe. So we need to limit the images that trigger that safety response, and recognize when we are not threatened in our immediate environment.
Finally, try to be realistic. Is it safe to travel to a post-earthquake zone? Get as much information about that as you can. It might be better to postpone the trip if the area is still recovering. It might help to get advice from someone objective before you decide.

It can be difficult to be seeing the news about accidents that have been happening, it makes sense that you've feeling scared about this when the main things you've been hearing about surrounding it have been negative.
Especially with this being your first solo trip, which can already be anxiety provoking, current events can add to that feeling. You still have three weeks until you're scheduled to go so you have that time available to see how things change and reassess if you feel inclined.
