No best friend - lonely

Over the past three years I've lost my two best friends. As friends - not like they passed.

The first one I was closer with. The friendship ended because I spoke my mind about her husband and she ended our friendship over that.

The second was more recent. She recently went through two major life events. She lost her mom and found out her husband had been cheating and they divorced. She started seeing a man right after the divorce was final and won't answer my texts and never reaches out. It's been nothing for about 6 months so I've given up.

I feel so lonely. I have a lot of close friends but not one of them is someone that I would feel that level of best friend-ness with.

Part of this could be that this summer my major depressive disorder is really bad. And that I'm an introvert. If I have a bestie, my ideal quality time is just us watching movies and drinking Asti.

I've even thought of going on the "friend" version of Bumble but that is too much work and feels weird to me.

I do have a very supportive partner but he can't provide the best friend qualities I need.

Any suggestions or experience?

My wife is my best friend.. She isn't that interesting but she has a heart of gold. Trying to get friends these days is a dubious venture, but if you are in the right place at the right time it's worth the effort to find a friend.. in my experience it takes a lot of attempts and requires much patience.. I hope you find that special friend your seeking🌲

@unassumingCake8633 Hello. I'm sorry this happen to you. I'm in a similar situation with a few of my relationships. It's hard, but don't beat yourself up. We don't know how someone else truly feels unless they tell us and even then it can still be a challenge. Enjoy time by yourself and keep trying to make new friends cause there are dozens of people out there waiting to meet you :)

i'm really sorry to hear this has happened to you; loosing friends can be heartbreaking. it's okay to move on and try to make new friends, as you deserve people around you who you trust and who treat you how you'd like to be treated.

joining events/engaging in communities that revolve around things you enjoy (whether this be arts, sports, music, e.c.t) is one way to make friends. although it does take time, and not all your attempts may be successful, don't lose hope! i wish you luck.
