I am a 29 year old working in a Big 4 who started working with a lot of ambitions. I am good at what I do and hence I get a lot of work. Lately, I saw all my friends leave the organization and me being burnt out all the time. Personally also I am so much of a constant attention seeker from my husband who is into business and expects me to give him space. I dont have any friends left since all either got married or see my life as boring and at this point I feel money as useless.

Hey @powerfulApple8607, firstly it sounds like you are really dedicated to your job. Working in a Big 4 is notoriously difficult and I admire your commitment to put in the work. It's understandable that you would feel burnt out, and I can imagine watching your friends leave has impacted your own work environment and experience.

It sounds quite isolating to not have as many friends readily available due to their relationships, and also have your husband who needs some space.

I can definitely understand the dilemma of working for money, whilst also balancing your own happiness and work-life balance.

Is there anything outside of work that helps you to recoup from work, and restores your energy? I find when I'm burnout, it can be helpful for me to focus on the things that restore me (watching a comfort tv show, making sure I take regular breaks or log off on time, seeing friends/family away from work). Everyone is different, and what works for one person may not work for another.

You're not alone in this, and please do continue to use the forums to get support whenever you'd like. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to request a 1:1 chat with a listener to discuss in more depth.

Sending you some virtual hugs!
