Relationship Anxiety

Hey Guys!

I’m gonna try to make this short and sweet. I struggle with relationship anxiety really bad. Unfortunately I have an anxious attachment style.. I fear the most that my boyfriend is going to leave me.

My childhood was definitely not the best and my parents had a pretty nasty divorce. Needless to say, my childhood was chaotic. So I know my issues now stem from that.. I haven’t found anything that really helps, I’ve done counseling and therapy. It just doesn’t seem like anything is really stopping it.

We are planning to get engaged soon, he mentioned sometime next month and yet even that doesn’t settle my worry that he will leave me one day. Or realize i’m not enough for him, Or just simply leave. He truly is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.. and I am just feeling so sick in this worry. If anyone has any tips i would really appreciate it.

I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through. It's tough to talk about your struggles, but I think it's awesome that you're reaching out for help. It's obvious that your past is affecting how you feel now. Have you ever thought about trying mindfulness to deal with your anxiety? It can really help you become more aware of yourself and lower your stress levels. Just remember, you deserve love and happiness, and your past doesn't define you. Sending you strength and peace as you keep moving forward ❤️

I am really sorry that you are going through this and  how your past is affecting you. I know as a kid you had a chaotic childhood and that your parents decided to leave each other and that your worry that it will happen to your relationship but it sounds to me that your boyfriend really does love you and he is super attracted to you. I wouldn't worry about him leaving you since I don't think he would ever leave you. I think he will always be with you.
