Returning anxiety

Hello all. I lived with anxiety since I can remember. Specifically heath anxiety. It was very mild for the past 5 months and recently returned full force 2 weeks ago. My issue is all the coping skills that used to work in the past seems to make it worse. Trying new ones also seem to enhance the panic and bring me back to the very dark place I was before “the clam”

I feel stuck and helpless. Has anyone went through this?

@AnxiousMike my mental health issues do come in waves, not exactly likes yours have. But I still sympathise with you. Did you tell the doctor about the recent dip in your health? Cause I think that's kinda important. Sends hugs and love your way ❤

hello @AnxiousMike 😊

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to share your struggles with health anxiety. It's not easy to open up about such personal experiences, and doing so is a significant step in itself. Living with anxiety, especially when it intensifies unexpectedly, can be incredibly challenging and disorienting.

It's not uncommon for coping strategies that once seemed effective to lose their potency over time or under different circumstances. Our minds and bodies can change in response to various factors, and what helped us in the past might not always be as helpful in the present. It’s also understandable that trying new methods might initially increase your anxiety. This doesn't mean that you're doing anything wrong; rather, it's a reflection of the complex and often unpredictable nature of anxiety itself.

Feeling stuck and helpless in this situation is a natural response. Remember, you are not alone in this. Many people have experienced similar challenges with anxiety and have found their way through it. It might be helpful to consider reaching out to a mental health professional who can provide support tailored to your current needs. Sometimes, a fresh perspective or a different approach can make a significant difference.

In the meantime, be gentle with yourself. Recognize the strength it takes to face each day with this challenge, and give yourself credit for the resilience you've shown so far. Small steps are still progress, and it's okay to take things one day at a time.

You've already shown remarkable strength by reaching out and seeking support. That's a powerful step, and I encourage you to continue seeking connections and resources that resonate with you. Remember, your journey with anxiety is uniquely yours, and it's okay to take the time you need to find what works best for you now.

Wishing you strength and peace on your journey 🙌
