Social anxiety
I think what I’m experiencing is social anxiety but I’m not quite sure, because whenever the idea of meeting people or being present in a social gathering is offered to me or sometimes it’s mandatory, my chest gets tight and it’s hard to exhale, it feels like there’s a knot in my chest that is struggling to break, sometimes it can break if I try to yawn, sometimes I just have to wait for it, and it happens in anticipation of the event, like a week before the event starts.
Does anyone feel anything similar to that?

Yes! I feel you. I have felt exactly like this, especially in the past few years. I get very anxious and sometimes even get hot/hyperventilate before an event, but after it, I always think I was silly for being so anxious because nothing bad happened. I also find myself thinking about worst-case scenario, then my brain tricks me into thinking that will happen. I usually get more anxious earlier when the event is more important to me. Was this an important event?

Hey there, it can feel scary to interact with new people, and I get that feeling because we tend to get nervous when we're in a new environment. Being around with new people can feel a little out of place sometimes, and that is okay. Sometimes we just need to calm ourselves down before interacting with other people so that we can get a little ease of mind. I see that yawning works for you, or at times that feeling will subside after a while, and it is completely normal to feel like this from time to time.
I believe that you've got this (:
