Threat Of Global Conflict Anxiety
Since January of 2024 I have been extremely anxious of a global conflict happening. I have to leave the room each time they threaten it on the TV or radio and I try to avoid the subject in conversations with others as I get so anxious that it may happen. When the subject is raised my symptoms are as follows:
A pit in my stomach that goes right through me.
Sometimes flushing of my face and feeling hot.
My general anxiety goes through the roof.
I become quiet and subdued for a few days after.
I try to limit my news consumption which can be hard as there is news everywhere these days.

Not to invalidate your feelings, but... As a kid growing in 1980s, when our biggest friend was Russia, and our biggest threat was America, I remember being taught - starting from a primary school, how to behave in a case of a nuclear assault or how to put a gas mask on in case of s chemical attack...
We were never sure that tomorrow comes, but, quite a paradox, people took as much happiness as possible from their life being here and now.
And now there is a real war in a neighbouring country, and we wonder what happens next.
What helps me is thinking that we have no control of the world events. And believing there is some wiser being somewhere over there...
And if anything happens people will do their best to stay alive and human.
And that we are something more than just our bodies...
