It's important when families suffer in how they communicate and feel, to sometimes take a break.

And pick your battles.

Getting away from the situation, can give us a fresh perspective and allow high feelings to ease off 💙

Hi agree, but it's not always possible to walk away. Though fresh air, ideally a chat with a friend can help a lot to ease the tension and recalibrate the focus.

Hi... I'm with you on that as it's a recurring issue.

To be honest, I have realised that trying to have an adult conversation with family members can improve things.

I also remind myself of the discrepancy in relation to generation gap, life experiences and education level amongst my family members.

I found hard for instance to be supported for my MH problems, and lately I have realised that there's nothing they can do to improve the support needed for me. It's a constraint they hold, because back in the day MH was a stigma.

Though, I think that confronting the issues can be beneficial. Even though at some point I was the so called adult in the room, and I left with nothing, or not was I was expecting.

To sum up, a sit down can help...but also it depends on how open is the recipient.

I hope my input was somewhat helpful.
