I have been told i am not my body. Cut my hand off and i am still me minus one hand. Same goes for all physical parts of my body.

The Managing Anxiety path has a section that says "You are not your thoughts"

If i am not my mind or body what the heck am I?

I would disagree that you're not your body, you may not be any one single part of your body (aka still you with parts missing), but you still are your body because that's what makes you up. Like, you wouldn't see your removed hand and think, that's me, fully me. You'd think, that's a part of me. But a part that doesn't have to define you or subtract from who you are, although missing it could impact you.

"You are not your thoughts" doesn't mean your thoughts aren't yours or aren't a part of you, it means the thoughts you have do not define you and not all thoughts = reality. And, thoughts are just one part of the mind.

So, what you are is a complex being of body and mind, who is not defined by any one part or thought, but as the whole working together. And because nothing is perfect, we sometimes have thoughts that make us feel one way or think about ourselves negatively, without them really being true.

@Gettingbettertoday if i think straight cutting all body parts one will lead to death. Similarly cutting mind process one by one may lead to nothingness or madness. But spirituality says that we are not the body or mind but only soul. But follow this idea without proper knowledge or wisdom can be dangerous. I suggest to follow one simple idea that is not to get trapped in the mischief of thousands of thoughts whether negative or positive. Rather just observe the thoughts coming from nowhere in ur mind. Stay happy dear.😊
