When Panic Comes

When Panic Comes
It begins—
The numbness creeps in,
makes me want to hum
just to feel grounded.
My chest tightens,
cold and sharp
like a frozen weight pressing down.
I want to scream—
but I don’t.
I’m caught in the stillness.
My mind spins like a storm,
my heart races
as if it’s running
from something unseen.
I’ve walked through this before.
I know the path.
God, I lean on You again.
In this spinning room,
in this heavy air,
in this ache I can’t name—
You remain.
You are my peace,
my anchor,
my steady hand.
You whisper,
“You are not alone.”
You hold me
even when I feel unsteady.
You calm the storm—
not always around me,
but always within.
So I keep breathing,
keep hoping,
keep trusting,
through the shaking and the unknown.
Because You have me,
always here.
Always now.
