@adventurousEast1922 I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. Anxiety can be so overwhelming, especially when it feels like it follows you everywhere. Gradual exposure—starting with very small steps outside, like just standing by the door or a quick walk around the block—can sometimes help your body get used to being outside without overwhelming anxiety. Also, having a small reassurance item with you, like a comforting object or something that helps ground you, can make a big difference when anxiety hits. You’re doing really well by reaching out, and remember you’re not alone in this. Sending you lots of support!

@Mya000 Going outside really does help for anxiety and depression. I have both and it really makes a difference when you get out the house, but I still can't force myself to leave.

@blueAcai9816 You're very welcome 💛 I understand how hard it can be.  Be gentle with yourself, and take it step by step. Maybe you could start with just opening a window or stepping outside for a moment, and build from there.

I'm so sorry you're feeling like that. I used to feel like that. I had problems with vertigo for a while and leaving my house scared me so much. Once I realizes that I was missing so much in life, I started fighting it.

I started just walking around the block once a day. Takes about 5 minutes. Then I'd do two laps around the block or do it twice a day. Then I walked to my parents' house which is about 20 minutes away. I'd let my mom know beforehand that I was on my way so she could come get me if I didn't make it all the way. Then I'd go to the grocery store by myself or meet a friend for a couple of hours. I increased the time outside about once a week until I realized that I wasn't getting dizzy and returned home safely every time.

After about 5 months I was ready to go back to work. A couple of hours every day until I could do a full shift again. The more times I returned home safely, the easier it became.

Typing this out makes it sound so easy. It wasn't. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. That was five years ago and I still struggle with anxiety but I remember that I overcame this once and I can do it every time.

@CranberryBliss That took a lot of courage and it seems like that was really hard to overcome. I want to try doing little things like that to help me manage my anxiety for when it comes to leaving outside. Your experience and how you successfully achieved being able to work again makes me want to take strives to leave the house even if it is for a little while and build up the courage to leave for longer periods of time.

@adventurousEast1922 I feel the same way, I would tell people that I've felt too sick to go anywhere because my anxiety would make me feel nauseous and like I had to throw up. I've struggled with anxiety for a long time, and it affected my ability to get a job and connect with people.

I get the same way. Always feeling nauseous, even light headed sometimes when leaving the house. One thing that I've found that helps reduce my nausea is having a few mints in my pocket, having some relief when not at home. There are some out there specifically for upset stomach/nausea(I'm new on here so I'm not sure if I can say the brand on here). But I've found them to be more helpful than even the anti nausea meds I've been prescribed before. Everyone is different so they may or may not work for you but it might be worth a try to see if it helps you. Hope this helps.
