Panic Attacks in Public
I have social anxiety and therefore nearly all my panic attacks are in public, I actually can't think of a single time I've had a panic attack in a place where I've been alone (or around few people) it's horrible. And I'm quite an introverted person and mostly enjoy being alone, so its horrible when people try to help me, when I just want to be alone in a dark room with some really loud music
Try doing either of these things: counting up, breathing in for 4 secs, hold for 7 and breath out for 8, get some fresh air, try to slow your heart beat, ask a friend to stand with you or be with you, i hope this helped!
I suffer a lot when i'm at work and I work as a customer service desk assistant.
I have to totally stop what i'm doing and take a few deep breaths, at the moment they aren't too bad though, but they used to last up to an hour sometimes.
It definitely helps when you understand that it is just panic, nothing more, so keep telling yourself that it is your bodies response to too much stress etc.
You need to tell yourself during the attacks that you will be ok, whilst doing breathing exercises that suit you. That's what I do when i'm in public. I may get funny looks, but at least I stop panicking and can carry on working. Hope this helps
omg im the same, i always have them around people, be it in public or at home with my family. when these occur if im in public i just wanna go home
