Hi, it's been many years since I suffered one as bad as this, well, actually 2 today. One in the afternoon at Walmart, I just breathed through it, left the store and it seemed to be over, until I was at home several hours later, just sitting on my bed, studying Spanish and then my stomach sent a wave of negativity through me, then chills, then fear, worst ride of my life, it seemed to never end. I thought my life was over :,(

So, now I am still in bed, tearful at times, but mainly trying to put together a survival plan until I can get to a Dr. It's new years eve and I'm therapy shopping. I'm so exhausted, is that from all the adrenaline???

Anyone there tonight?

I'm sorry... :,(

This is awful

Hey there! First of all, I've relocated your thread to a more suitable forum - in the Anxiety Support Subcommunity. Second of all, that sounds like you've had a rough New Years' Eve night! You are definitely very, very brave and courageous to live through that. Until you are able to visit a doctor, do you practice any calming and positive coping mechanisms to reduce your panic attacks when they occur, or reduce the triggers of them?

@Emily619

Thank you for moving my thread. Hadn't looked around much (my bad), was just beaten when I signed up. Appreciate the fix :)

As far as coping, I had read before to try and breathe deep and focus on real things, like the floor, the walls, sunshine and try to think on positives (if possible). At Walmart, it was almost crippling, but I just kept breathing deep, I had to take a second or to to try and regroup myself, it was bad, but I managed to pull myself together, I was shaken, but I made it home and was alright for the most part.

The 2nd wave was unlike any panic or anxiety attack I had ever experienced. I felt cold, like chilled to the bone and couldn't stop shaking, the dread, and fear as if I was dying, I was helpless and this attack kept washing over me, I didn't think it was gonna stop. It was at least 20-30 minutes.

(Now, I will add my stress level right now is absolutely crushing , I won't go into all of that, just trust me, I'm surprised I haven't had a heart attack with life expectations right now, my responsibilites is just becoming too much. This panic attack is situational, I feel crushed under the weight of my responsibilities. I'm doing my best and I'm giving it my all, but something had to give, I guess it had to be me that crumbled.)

Post panic attack, I can't muster the strength to leave my bed for lack of strength and I'm still quite cold.

Like I said, It's been a while since I suffered one of these, and never this bad. Is being exhausted past of the aftermath?

P.S. Thank you to everyone here for any help or even just letting me be here and reading my pathetic post. Just, thanks, thank you, everyone.

@Makeitstop53 yes, the adrenaline makes your body do crazy things, but when it is all over, you feel spent. Recovery time is essential. Another reason it can be so debilitating.
