panic attacks while asleep

So when I was very young, I used to have what felt like panic attacks when I was in the middle of dreaming. They used to be so severe that I would actually get up while half asleep and move around the house and muttering to myself, sometimes hyperventilating and picking up things. They were very strange, scary experiences that were usually triggered by me being chased by something in the dream, or when my thoughts race. I used to think they were just nightmares, but I didnt think they caused the dreamer to sleepwalk.

This doesnt happen to me anymore, but has anyone else experienced this?

I don't think I have panic attack in sleep, but I do have nights when the stress is strong that I have anxious sleeps. I'd be so tired and I go to bed I'd jolt awake white pounding heart and laboured breath, like I had a nightmare but I'd recall in that short time before losing memory about my dream that I wasn't having nightmares. I'd still be so tired but I couldn't calm down and stay anxious in bed for hours. Usually I just give up sleep.
