Arachnophobia-Fear of Spiders
I have had arachnophpobia ever since I was a little kid. I can't stand being in the same room with a spider, no matter what size it is. I have to have somone come and kill it for me. Pictures and videos of spiders give me the creeps. Stuffed animals and cartoon spiders that are drawn to be "cute" give me the willies. Even the children's song, The Itsy Bitsy Spider scares me cause I just picture a spider crawling slowly towards me. How to I get over this phobia? It's embarrising being scared of a children's nursery rhyme.
@cutebutterfly99 have you considered the phobia free app? it starts of showing pictures of cartoon spiders for you to get acclimatised to then gets more realistic but all at your own pace- phobias are a natural part of you, but can be overcome with effort and patience. I used to faint at the sight of needles and now i'm a three time blood donor! Confronting the fear takes away its teeth (or in this case legs)
@N0vakIndustries I have tried listening to instermentals of the Itsy Bitsy Spider to try and get past it. It still gives me the willies a little bit though.

@cutebutterfly99
that's still a really good step! As time goes on hopefully it will become less and less fear-inducing @cutebutterfly99
If your area has a zoo with a spider section, maybe try regular visits? You can observe from safety and hopefully a guide on staff could talk to you about them.
I say this because I used to feel terrorized by all spiders. Then for a while I lived in a country with a tropical climate. I got so used to seeing house spiders there that the fear subsided. I still wouldn't pick one up now, but I can kill one with something. I only feel horror with huge or unfamiliar-looking ones (which are rare)...but I'll still go to battle, maybe shrieking.
