Hiv/needle phobia
I have OCD for quite a while, I lost my brother to AIDS when I was 12, and I’ve kind of been obsessed with HIV ever since. The last few years I’ve developed a phobia of needles, to the point where I find it hard to leave my house and go into publics places, in fear that someone might stab me with a dirty needle. I’m fully aware of how irrational this sounds, but it’s seriously uncomfortable. The OCD definitely drives the depression I feel, and obviously the anxiety also! I’m exhausted.

Hi Jackfruit! I hope you're doing well! I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with OCD and a fear of needles. I have OCD as well, so I completely understand how you're feeling. It can sound so silly in our heads and when we talk about it out loud, but it's completely rational in our OCD brains. Do you have support with your fear? It might be helpful if you have someone that could help you face your fear and maybe go out in small doses! I'm thinking of you!
