Hi all,

I see this section of the Anxiety group has been a little quiet lately. I'd love to talk to people who have or even better USED to have agoraphobia.

I feel so alone with it and I'm pretty much friendless. Luckily I've got an amazing partner so I'm never truly alone.

@PhobicFriend Hey there! I've been struggling with agoraphobia for the past decade or so. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, I can convince myself to leave the house for a little while some days, but can't even leave my room on others. I also have an incredible partner but dealing with such strong negative emotions is still tough. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm totally down to chat. <3

hi I have agoraphobia as well. I can leave my house and go about 30 miles from home but any further and I panic. I hate that this has robbed me of my independence. My family goes on vacations without me. Makes me sad. I've been working with a therapist for years but cannot her past the fear.

How much have you been "payed" to revive the subject?

Agoraphobia is not about leaving the house but about being among people crowds.

I can leave the house and enjoy a walk in nature with my dog or my friends...that is not agoraphobia...

I lived with agoraphobia my whole life, to the point I got sweaty and out of breath and mad in supermarkets or any crowded environment....when in crowds I wish I can transform myself in a nnuclear bomlmb and eradicate everybody. In the subway people do not have tge minimum common sense to walk on the right, give priority to exit, etc. Immbecile herds of crowds...

I am glad and so grateful that you help us with agoraphobia...

@RedGlowingButterflee

I'm not really sure what you're getting at here? I haven't been 'paid' to revive the subject.

Also your agoraphobia might not be exactly the same as mine. For some people it's about being far away from the 'safety' of their home.

@PhobicFriend

It is sure not the deffinition of agoraphobia which is fear of crowds or masses of people, has nothing to do about home or not, you might want to document yourself better.

@PhobicFriend

Agoraphobia may lead to deression which may lead to leaving home but it has nothing to do with being far from home, but the fear of crowds or masses...check your deffinitions before writing...

@PhobicFriend

i am a recovered agoraphobic. I had it for 1 entire year. It was severe, I could not leave home most days. Couldn't walk to the corner. I overcame it with medication.

I have been dealing with it for about 8 years now. It's pure hell! Just don't really ever have anyone to talk with about it.
