I have had a lot of people ask about coping skills lately. Coping Skills do not have to be complex. It can be anything that relaxes you or decreases your anxiety. :) Don't overthink it :)

yes. most important for me is to stop and watch myself or surroundings. or just stop. stop doing what you doing if you feel overwhelmed. switch, take a break, walk around, sleep. whatever it is that makes sense at that moment

@liludallas

To add to your reply -- some of what you said sounds similar to the anxiety coping technique, Mindfulness, which can be done through exercises and meditation. It's something that was hard for me to understand at first -- but after finally trying it a few times -- I found it be helpful and try to remind myself of it whenever I feel anxious. To focus on the outside world instead of my inner thoughts and world.

@Jamie0906

I experience my anxiety worst at night. I usually make a hot cup of tea and work on a puzzle or color while I watch TV. Doing something with my hands while also having the distraction of a TV show or movie helps.

I find that the best coping skills for me are to distract myself from the thing i am getting anxious about. Watch something funny or do something like painting really gets my mind off my anxiety.
