Advice on getting help?
@SirensSpirit First of all: congrats on taking that step. Maybe it seems like a little thing or silly or whatever, but you took that step and it's important to acknowledge that.
I'm not sure what kind of help you're seeking (and out of respect for your privacy you don't have to share), but usually I find the anxiety of waiting just makes it worse. You feel how you feel, but remember why you made the appointment in the first place: you're seeking help and that's important.
Hope this helps!
Proud of you for seekig help, this is always a huge step, but a good one.
Personally, looking for a therapist or anything on my own was too daunting, so imstead i went to my GP, someone i was already familiar and comfortable with. They helped me find a therapist and referred me there.
I will also say that if you dont feel like you fit with the first person you see, dont be discouraged from getting help because thats completely normal, they arent offended if you change what you do or who you see, the goal is for you to feel comfortable and be happy with that youre doing.
