I'm often scared to leave the house. It's not healthy. I don't know how to make new friends or connect with old ones. I've tried everything.

@NeWay  I am so sorry you are struggling this way. I can hear how hard it's been and how much you are trying. <3 It can be difficult trying to overcome something like this for many reasons. <3 It may take some time to get there, but it does help a lot having support. I hope you have been able to reach out for support with this. And if not, just know you are not alone, and we are here to listen. <3

I feel for you and understand you, but we must strive to change the situation gradually; we deserve a better life.

@NeWay

Thank you so much for sharing. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I can relate to what you said. I'm not saying that I know exactly what you're going through, but just that I've been in a similar space. It took some time, but I managed to pull through.

Sometimes just knowing that can help.

I'm sending you good wishes and all the best.

Thank you.

Hi NeWay, I am sorry you're going through this, this must be really difficult. It can be very frustrating and annoying. I know you said you have tried everything but what strategies seemed to be a bit more useful to you from those? I know it can be tough but you're not alone - I believe in you! Plus this community is a great space to share how you feel!

@NeWay oh wow I completely feel you on that. I've battled those exact same fears myself, and honestly, it is so incredibly hard. That feeling of being trapped by your own mind is exhausting, but please don't give up. Keep fighting. Tools like therapy, medical professionals, and leaning on the 7 Cups community have made a massive difference for me and so many others. You don't have to navigate this darkness alone, and taking it one small step at a time really does help. Since you're looking for that connection, would you want to try visiting one of our online support rooms today just to see how others handle it?

Hello! I am so sorry you are dealing with agoraphobia. As someone with direct experience with this, I understanding the struggle of making new friends or being able to function in a somewhat normal manner. I noticed that exposure therapy has helped me immensely, however, I understand in order to take that step, having a supportive friend with you can help. Opening up to a friend or even an acquaintance about this debilitating anxiety disorder may help with taking that exposure therapy step. I wish you well on this journey but just know, there is hope to recovery when it comes to agoraphobia! 🙂

@NeWay , I hear you , and feeling that way can feel exhausted especially when connecting with people feels like climbing a mountain . You aren't broken for feeling this way ,taking it one a day or even one minute at a time is completely okay and you are not alone in this ,even when you feel like it .

I can imagine how frustrating it feels to try so many things to try to connect with someone and leave the house and nothing seems like it’s working. I appreciate you coming to share how you’re feeling today! Even just sharing what you’re going through is a great step forward.

What’s something that you’ve tried so far and feel like is the biggest challenge when you’re trying to connect to others and leave the house?
