Am I A Bad Person
When I was younger, I lied about something serious. I was 11/12, and my lie only lasted about 24 hours until my friend figured it out. I'm way into my 20s now, and I still think about this every day. Sometimes I try to remember, and I think it didn't happen how I thought. That it was massively blown out of proportion rather than something I said as a kid for attention. But I also believe I have made myself to be a villain in my head and mis-remember it worse than it was. I think about it every day, it brings me so much turmoil in my head. I feel like im an awful person and I don't deserve to be here for the lie I told. It occasionally still gets talked about, not by me but by people around me, and I feel like everyone thinks I'm a horrible person even as an adult even though this happened more than 10 years ago. It makes me so miserable to think about that sometimes I feel suicidal when I do think about it. That I'm worthless and everyone around me deserves better. Am I a bad person? Do I deserve bad things to happen to me now because of this?
Everyone makes mistakes. Those rehatching what happened make mistakes too and still do so everyday. The important thing is learning from them and moving on. Do forgive yourself and all othere involved and move on from it. Wishing you the best.
You're not a bad person. Whatever happened in the past was not done by the person you are today. We are all constantly changing. You're not who you were. You're also not what others think of you. Hang in there and move forward with what you aspire to be. Baby steps!!
