Anxiety - Memory loss
Hi, I have been struggling with anxiety for the past 3 years now and it has gotten worse to the point where I forget more stuff and my memory can't help me much during my exams, which brings me more anxiett because I want to do good. How can I help mt memory ? Are there ways I could calm my mind and make it perform in its best state? Sometimes it gets messy and all over the place.
Thanks !

Hi! Anxiety can interrupt our studying and thinking processes. And of course the pressure makes us more anxious! I would work on your anxiety and the underlying causes, which should calm things down a bit so that you can focus. Have you looked at the self-help guides? There is one on anxiety, and others you might find useful. Go through the steps. https://www.7cups.com/supportGuides/selfHelpGuides.php
Other things I find helpful are good sleep, routine, keeping organised, eating well, some fun/relaxing time. The anxiety and any of these things can really interrupt your studies; if you still are struggling, and/or have always had this problem, it might be a good idea to speak with a psychologist in case there are other issues (executive function, adhd, ptsd or something else).
