Anxiety and Introversion yet not lonely
Hello everyone,
I am introvert, basically infp. I am also hsp (highly sensitive person).I do have anxiety as well, yet i wont classify myself as lonely.
In this day of filtered pics and having multiple social account, i am out of those stuffs. I want some yet good friends who will be honest with me always. And specially wont talk against me when am not present. People classify everyone everytime. Like about me, since childhood, i always had a small group of friends, or i always loved gardening. My classmates used to label me as lonely, yet na, i wasnt lonely ever. I embraced my introversion. I love to write poems, do paintings and love music and pets ( though i still dont have a pet).
I have anxiety of broken friendship, as i have seen many so-called friends so came, formed friendship, took help yet went away. It hurts me, that people take advantages and leave us. Its hard to find good people and form stable friendship, coz not all are willing to know our inner being. People love the latest craze of selfies, parties and gossips which i loathe always.So,often i stay away from other people whenever there are any parties or celebration coz i am unable to find like minded people who will not have shallow talks yet will love to talk and spend quality time. Because of this, often am labelled as lonely, but am not. I have got some good friends in life, who helps and understands me and motivates me to do well in life.
How will you all classify urself and ur struggles or the reviews u have got in life from other people because of ur introversion and anxiety?

Have a good day everyone (this is my first made forum thread, am kind of afraid if i make any mistakes, yet yeah i tried to write and make a forum thread
)
@niceDaisy36
I too have anxiety yet not lonely , but most people think I am . I have good friends they just care which I'm very grateful for.
Thank you and have a great day too
@niceDaisy36
I think it is great that you can pinpoint the exact thing that hurts because that means that in that you can find the need that is not getting met. It sounds like you are seeking a connection and not finding it yet. It is essential, to be honest about the things that have hurt us, and take the time to heal. Sometimes self-compassion helps and sometimes support. And then take it to the next level, get a step ahead of the things that went wrong and try a new approach but never give up on that need. I wonder what your next step will be?
@1Marg1
Its true that self compassion and support from beloved ones help us. Its what we want, we are social and emotional beings, we want to love other and be loved by others.Yet sometimes, some people do label simply becoz of introversion and anxiety. And there are people in ample who carry many fake veils of fake smiles, just to take the opportunity and bareen us at our time of need.
But we are blessed with some yet good friend that stay with us and help us. They lend their shoulder for us, which comforts us and we too care for them always. Am so happy to have some good friends.
The step that i always follow in life is to care and value those people, who value us and understands us. Its hard to find true friends, yet when we find true and good friends, they are like a treasure.
Have a good day ahead. Take care.
@niceDaisy36
Thank you for this lovely check-in, niceDaisy ! I love your deep, honest instrospection and conclusions. They mirror my own experiences in more ways than one. This is so much food-for-thought that quite resonates with me. ![]()

Am happy you took time to read this forum thread. Its good to have a friend like you who is there to help and understand me. I hope you had a good day and enjoyed the breakfast along with the chocolate cake as you told you will (perhaps,maybe)
.
I want to tag @lovelyWhisper66 .i hope u will love to read this forum thread.
@niceDaisy36 Thanks for the tag! I appreciate you writing this post and opening up about your experiences. Indeed, I think it is highly assumed that introversion goes hand in hand with loneliness. I'm so sorry to hear about your painful experiences, but I'm glad that you are able to embrace yourself. As for myself, I experience loneliness quite often, but it is by my own choice. I am quite anti social, which is something I aim to work on.
Thank you again for the lovely post, and keep up the fantastic work! :)
@lovelyWhisper66
Thanks for the reply.
It's true people often tell that am antisocial. I gues am anti-social to some extent also, coz it takes some time for me to start a conversation with anyone. And if i dont like them, i mean if they aint having like minded thoughts and doesnt understand me, i move away from them.I also need to work on this, coz there are times when people form groups and i remain left out. But i do find some people to talk with,yet that somehow takes some time.
Take care, Have a good day ahead
@niceDaisy36
I'm way late with this reply because my 7 Cups iPhone app was misbehaving again and wouldn't let me post on the forums.
I'm kind of like this, as well ... INFP and HSP. I am not comfortable in large, boisterous (unruly?
) crowds (unless I'm at a Chicago Cubs game
) or when I'm "put on the spot" during a meeting or in a one-on-one situation (Guess that leaves dating out for me, although I'm getting too old for that and I'm much more choosy when it comes to that compared to my friendship philosophy
). I also don't like confrontational situations such as when I'm on the Pending workstation at work and have to answer the phone and explain to the doctors and nurses why their lab results aren't coming in on time ... that's the most dreaded aspect of that workstation for me - NOT the running around and finding specimens and add-ons.
I was always labeled as "shy" and "withdrawn" way back when and my elementary and middle school teachers always thought there was something off with me because I preferred to sit and read during recess or after I had finished my schoolwork rather than hang out with the other groups.
These days, I do have some aspects of loneliness because I want to have some TRUE and STABLE friendships ... not the superficial and flighty ones that are a flash-in-the-pan and don't last. Besides which ... I don't have the time and energy to be chasing down deadbeat relationships because I put too much effort into it earlier, so let me be the first to leave such relationships and then THEY can wonder what it is exactly what they did (or didn't do) to break my heart and cause me to walk away in the first place.
VERY GOOD thread topic!!

@AbbyHarris1976
Its so nice to meet another INFP HSP person like u, Abby.
Yeah thats true what you wrote about pendingworkstation. About me, when a deadline arrives, suppose some projects, i start to think about will i be able to do that completely and correctly and give my best. But lool, same thing, if deadline aint given, i am able to complete it blissfully.
Yes, my teachers also told that am shy, yet they knew i was naughty hahha.Becoz of dad's job, i moved to many schools. And my nightmare was the interview time. Entrance exams were cool, all is i will appear the exam and write, but interview.!! Oh my God, they gonna ask about personal question like "what's your aim", "what thing you are good at". I often need to process things before speaking when a question is thrown at me, and am quite textovert. I can can give a quick reply if its through writing, but about speaking, i need time.But people, they say, "you need to open up", which really makes me think. Moving to places, i met so many classmates and people, that helped me to know about people, but unfortunately i never had a best friend from school. Yet there are good memories that i have of every school i went
.
Infact, opening up doesnt necessarily make sure that the other person will understand everything that we are speaking, and perhaps they are not in tune with our emotions as well.
I wish to have stable friendships, who will understand me always, and wont judge me. People are kinda ready to judge all.Judgement forms a boundary to friendship and love.Infact we need to love those people who values us, not those who thinks us as some option.
You are a good friend and sister, am so glad to get the chance to meet and talk with you
.
Take care, Have a good day ahead.
@niceDaisy36 I share ypur thoughts and feelings in detail. I am an extrovertite in the body of an introvertite, i know ecerything about it, maybe in future we can talk.
@niceDaisy36
I agree with everything that you've said. I, too, have no social media. I don't like parties, or talking about the latest trends. People act like I'm crazy for not being interested in these things. I completely understand when you talk about the betrayal of friends, and having few of them. I take things very personally, too. I take a while before I can trust people.
I've learned that if talking about shallow things and being on social media isn't for me, then I just shouldn't bother about how people classify me. It can be hard, because it isn't easy finding like minded people, like you said. You are completely right about people not wanting to take the time to learn about our inner selves.
People label me as an outsider who isn't 'up-to-date'. It is important for people like us to learn be resilient, and content with our many differences. Because so many people think a certain way, I strongly believe that our perspectives are very important (not to sound condescending).
This is a very good forum thread, and I really appreciate you tagging me on behalf of this.
@BlueDusk99
Hello Blue, thanks for taking time and going through this forum thread.
You wrote a right point about " It is important for people like us to learn be resilient, and content with our many differences"
. Its true we need to be content and be happy with who we are.Having no social media opts out the filtered pics from our life and hence people who wants to form friendship can know our soul much better way in a transparent way of true compassion and honesty.
I also take things personally, but meeting loads of people have made me stronger to know about what the person can be or whats their real identity. This quite helps me to find true friends. Even when suppose am travelling via train or bus, i love to see the people and think about "how is their day going on", " are they happy or sad or thinking about problems" hahha.
All of my cousins are extroverted, which somehow sometimes formed some boundary as they love to gossip about movies and just talk. While me not interested, but i love read book and talk with my younger cousin sister who i gues is introverted and is really a joker hahha
.My bro is naughty and often tells that am alien becoz am introvert hahaha
.
Am happy you liked this forum. Its so nice to meet you.
Take care, Have a good day ahead.
@niceDaisy36
You seem very wise, and in depth with everything you've said. Your sense of reasoning is fantastic. It's sincerely great to meet you, as well.
And you're welcome. Forums like this are great.
Best wishes.
@BlueDusk99
I am so happy to met you as well. I always wanted to create forum thread of my own.Yet somehow anxiety ate me a little bit by bit.So i thought to make a forum thread related to anxiety and introversion only. And am so happy that you and many users replied to it. This really made me happy and motivated me
.
Take care. Have a good day ahead
