Anxiety causing procrastination
I'm procrastinating more on important things that need to be done. For some, it didn't go exactly as planned, and others are a new, difficult, uncomfortable thing I must overcome for the first time I'm my life.
I used to have the support of friends to help me through it, but I no longer have them.
Does anyone else struggle with this? What do you do?
The things I have to do are time critical. I'd really appreciate any input because I feel the anxiety is going too far and controlling.

I think feeling the pressure is what's causing the anxiety in the first place. So how could you take some of that pressure off? For me it helps to take things one day at a time. Choose one thing that needs to be done.. set a date for it. And on that day keep in mind that you only need to get through that day and do that one thing. All the rest of what you could worry about, try to set it aside for that day. Chop things up in chuncks that way. Everytime it's just one day and one thing, instead of so many days with so many things.
And tell yourself it's ok to feel overwhelmed. It's ok to feel this way, even people without anxiety feel overwhelmed too! I always try to tell myself; I can have this anxiety attack right now when I need to do the thing, no problem.. go ahead.. but I'd rather wait till I'm back home again. I've felt pretty ok for all the days I sat inside, so these few hours or whatever that I need to do the thing, I can do that without anxiety too.

When you have a list of things to do it can be VERY overwhelming. So i tend to just not do anything! I sit and think about how I can't do all the things I need to. And the longer I sit the more panicked I feel. So to stop the cycle you gotta just take ONE step in the right direction. Do a part of a task. Example If you need to clean your apartment, just sweep the kitchen. And then take a break. Just do 1 thing. 2 minutes. It'll break the cycle and you might even think "hey that wasn't so bad. Maybe I can do the dishes too."
