Well lately I have been feeling anxious because I feel like I haven’t been doing enough in college , and I am going to regret resting today because I might not be the person I want to be in the future, but these past few days I just want to sleep I don’t want to do an anything, but in result of me resting and just relaxing and not doing anything I feel like I’m not being enough.

@honeynight16
hey honeynight! I wanted to let you know that I was going through the exact same thing few months ago.
I wasn't being productive at work nor at home. And that hurt my motivation And inturn affected my ability to do anything. It was a vicious circle. Right now, I think I can safely tell that I am stepping out of it.qIt took a great deal for me to even do the easiest job. I tried and searched for so many things on the internet... I can't say if any of those tehniques worked, but I understood it was important for me to not give into negative Reinforcement.
I used to feel bad about the person I was. I slowly changed this habit with positive Reinforcement by telling that it's okay to be this way and made sure I didn't make negative remarks about what I did. And step by step as every week passed, I was able to achieve 1% better... and now, after all this time I feel I've come far from that place, yet a few more miles to go.
I'm sure you were able to achieve a lot of things in your past, honeynight. It's only a matter of time before you rediscover the same spirit. I really hope you figure out what works for you and take that small step however small it is, towards getting better

@honeynight16 I can relate to the struggle of needing rest and then not feeling like I'm doing or being enough. When I do MAKE myself rest, I don't even really feel like resting because my mind is thinking about all the things I should be doing. It's a vicious cycle. One thing I try, but still am not that great at admittedly, is I try to set aside a few hours or sometimes even an entire day, where I completely ignore my phone and sit on the couch and veg out and zone out to some tv or read. Kind of like a day off of worrying. Then I pick my worries and work up the next day. It's def a struggle and work in progress. Have you ever thought of making a list of things/activities that you consider self-care and that actually recharge you? Just for reference on restless days? Thank you for opening up this dialogue!

Yes I have. actually um , I wrote that yesterday and since then it might not be the best idea to some people, but I put on some music like up beat songs and if I was like” it’s okay to rest, but just remember why you wanted to get into college in the first place, and why you made a routine that’s for for YOU” , it all came together to me as motivation which is leave this place that I’m in , and be a better me than I was yesterday, and I got a lot of things done and felt proud of myself, like this is unfortunately or fortunately not the first time it happened.

but I do have a list , I have writing, I write a lot like about my emotions because that’s how I process them and feel them you know what I mean? And I have some typical self-care stuff like eating my fav food, watching a movie and so on, but my favorite lately is closing my phone and just binge watch my favorite YouTuber and ignore everyone and everything at that time.

and ofc <333 thank you for taking the time to talk<3

I understand how you feel. But I also believe in self-care. Right now your mind is telling you to relax and take it easy. Sometimes I used to lay in bed and not exercise when I started to exercise I started to cook and I started an online university. I began to read more. I believe small achievements can bring great future success.
