Anxiety when beginning a potential relationship

Hey all, I have feelings for a guy at my college and am currently “testing the waters / trying to talk” and I am second guessing every word and over analyzing what he says and it is exhausting to be honest, I’m not sure what to do about this. I have no problem making conversation with friends but when there’s potential for a relationship my mind goes blank and I feel like I’m about as interesting as watching paint dry, I don’t know how to fix this but I really want to. Any advice?

@screagle26

The anxiety and over-thinking when it comes to a new relationship is sometimes a result of previous trauma of bad/sad experiences with relationships, It's your mind trying to prevent more heartbreak. I have been there, and I'd suggest you take the time to figure things out. Write it down if you can (your fears, thoughts, expectations, etc), and try to be as real as possible. I know it's hard, but sometimes simply being you is enough :)

Feel free to reach out if you like. Goodluck!
