Anxious Every Work Day
I just recently started a new internship at a really amazing place to help me get all my credits to graduate. I really love the place. It is a ranch that uses equine assisted therapy models (horses to help people with trauma) and I have already learned so much in my first few weeks. However, I find myself feeling extremely anxious ever morning that I am supposed to go work there. In fact my first day of actual work (not training or anything) I had three panic attacks. My supervisor is very empathetic and understanding so she has been really helping me to feel comfortable there thankfully, but I really don't want to start losing my joy working at this place because I get so anxious every time I have to go. Today is one of those work days, so I'm trying to relax and calm my nerves a bit but any suggestions that have worked for you guys?
@Songbirdjo Ah getting anxious about getting anxious does not help but is something I do too, but it does sound like you have a wonderful internship that helps people with trauma using horses. Do you feel like the panic attacks are triggered because of the new work environement or what triggers you? I feel like for me I just accept that I will be anxious at times and have panic attacks, sometimes we can't control our feelings and it's okay; if we percieve them differently it helps sometimes though. And since it was your first day, it makes sense for you to be more anxious, I am sure in time the panic attacks should calm downbut if they don't that, you can survive them
