I keep thinking about death, I'm definitely nor suicidal, but I can't grasp the idea of not being alive anymore? I have been thinking about the idea of death/the afterlife for about two weeks now nonstop, anyone have any tips to stop this?

What is it specifically have you been thinking about? You said not specifically suicide but about just not living or existing anymore? Is there any Trigger or events that prompt this within the last 2 weeks?

I would try to narrow down what Clues might cause you to think about this and then go from there to try to change your thinking about it.

also anytime you feel just overwhelmed there are many many hotlines out there with many listeners waiting to talk to you. This is a serious issue that I sincerely hope will fade away but just in case, you should always turn to those hotlines when you don't know who else to turn to. Take a moment to find a hotline number in your area I keep it with you just in case any time.

I'm very sorry you feeling like this right now and I sincerely hope that those thoughts go away soon so you will be in peace.

@Eli098

I've just been thinking about not living anymore. Like the thought of just being done with life?

The past 2 weeks, hmm. I'm a highly gullible person, which causes me to believe everything and get nervous about everything and such. A video was recommended to me on YouTube, and the title was something like "Jesus Is Returning Right Now" or something like that. I didn't watch the videos, but I did read the comments and everyone was recommended the video within that same week, which made me anxious. I know it's most likely just YouTube's algorithm, but I still worry about it. Then, like 2 days after that, I saw a bunch of things about climate change which caused me to worry and think about death and like the end of my existence even more?

* I don't know if you believe in God or climate change, but I was just telling you the gist of all that happened.

@peacelover003 I can imagine how anxious and overwhelming the thought of death can be sometimes, especially when it doesn't seem like any positive thing is there to make you feel better. Perhaps, it might be due to feeling lonely, empty or sometimes experiencing too much emotional pain or negative thoughts. If that's possible, please try to think... Think about what could be the possible reason that's making you feel this way. You are not alone.

@DAGNY3

I think the future just scares me ( see my other reply above for more context), and with how things are looking right now in the world, it's hard for me to think I'll live into my 80s, you know?

I have a hard time seeing myself live that long too.. as it is I am currently struggling to see myself through each day.. I believe in God and believe that death is not the end.. that consciousness continues after our bodies die.. and if you believe as the Latter Day Saints believe, everyone is resurrected with perfect bodies and clean spirits... Death is a fascinating and mysterious and can be scary thought..

I see. I do worry about that sometimes too. For example you mentioned climate change. There are other things I worry about like the state of social morality, world and national politics, World Pollution, the deterioration of nature Etc. So when I see these things on the news or think about these thing it does get depressing about how life on Earth might potentially and one day or how the Earth is just going into a very slow decline perhaps.

So in that aspect I understand your thoughts because I have felt the same way. But I want you to know that these things are absolutely out of any one person's control. If we feel guilt over these things, maybe we can try to advert some control by volunteering in some sort of charitable work to help prevent these things. Just so we feel like we are doing something to help the Earth for example.

Also when you are on the internet on social media or popular streaming video sites, take a moment to be cautious of what you see and especially of other people's comments. I have watch very innocent cute animal videos but yet some of the comments left there were very insincere and hurtful for no reason. These people might just be Trolls. But it definitely made me feel mad thinking why would anybody write something so hurtful? Or sometime I would watch the news and everything will be bad news and I regret even turning on the TV at all. If you are something like that like me, I would recommend limiting your exposure to

The news or the internet or social media sites do only a limited time per day. Or rather don't get yourself caught up in the comments sections or hateful Threads Online for example.

You also said you are very gullible. Guilt is a very complex emotion and can be hard to control but not impossible. When you feel yourself becoming guilty, maybe question yourself exactly why you feel that way, if you have control over the situation or not or what your intentions were. For example if somebody accuses you of a wrongdoing, maybe you sincerely made a mistake with no ill intentions. Everybody makes mistakes and we simply learn from it when we apologize for it and we move on.

I am very happy to know that you admit to having a generally happy life. And I hope that happiness continues for you as a lifelong thing. Nobody on Earth will ever know when our life ends so that is something absolutely outside of our control. So until our very last day on Earth let's try our best to live our life the way we want hopefully.
