Anxious/depressed
This is my first post, so I have no idea how this works besides I guess just posting how you feel? I have dealt with depression/anxiety for years and have learned how to cope in my own ways as I have never been to therapy or been on any medication for it (which I should but hey I'm poor). My family are not people to talk to about these kinds of things, and my boyfriend blows it off like I'll just get over it in a day or so. I'm constantly having to put on a fake smile and go through day to day life when I hate every waking moment of it. I'm tired of pretending like I am okay just so I don't annoy those around me because I am "sad all the time".

Hey @pumpkinguts32
Its great to have you here and its also great that you've reached out to 7cups community here on this forum. We are all here for you to support and help you get through this. You mentioned that you cannot talk to anyone about your anxiety and depression, in your family, as well as your boyfriend. Have to tried to reach out to a listener 1 on 1 yet?
Anxiety and depression can take a toll on anyone and you're so strong to be dealing with this. I would like to know though; why do you think you have to pretend to be okay through your day to day life? What do you think might happen if you stopped?
Also, if you feel the need, do not hesitate to message me or any other listener on here. We are here to help.

I feel like I have to pretend to be okay because when I do try to open up about how I am feeling, it always gets turned around to the other person's issues (my mom, friend, boyfriend). As soon as I start talking about my issues it's always "I understand because I am dealing with x y and z too..". It gets to the point that I shut myself off and end up always being the listener for them but I can't have that for me. It can be very frustrating so I just let the issues sit inside myself and I am worried it's going to become too much for me to handle.
