Anxious in general

I've been having issues with my anxieties and depression. My girlfriend of 5 months has 2 kids and I've been taking care of them while she's at work. When she gets home I've always done something wrong, the first time she said good job, is it wrong to want your partner to praise you sometimes instead of criticizing you? This has been affecting my moods and triggering my depression which in turn becomes anger and I tend to snap at her. Which turns into an arguement and then it's just a spiral down from there... I need help.
